Ben Bruce aka First Born
A question I should know the answer to, . What/when was the last Buick specific engine. Shared with nothing. Ben
SpecialEducation
Designed by Buick shared with NOTHING? That’s tough. GMC was using Buick engines back in the 30’s.
Gene Brink
I think it must be their version of the 455 V8. Miss the days when you could walk into a machine shop and they could tell at a glance what you were bringing in.
Terry Wiegand
Ben, I ordered a new 1976 Century Custom Sport Coupe in late August of 1975. I took delivery on November 21, 1975. I have always been told that the 1976 Buicks were the last models to use an honest-to-God, Buick-built engine. Beginning with the 1977 GM vehicles they went to what is referred to as a 'corporate' engine. It was used in Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and GMC trucks along with Buick. Ben Bruce aka First Born
Thanks, Terry. I thought probably it was about then. Now I know 1976. The last year before downsizing. Ben
