Guest Winston1
I want to get original style tires for a 48 Chrysler New Yorker. What were the factory original brand, size and whitewall size? Thanks
c49er
Goodyear Super Cushions....... 8.20 X 15" .... Not sure of whitewall width but at least 3"-3 -1/2" Edited October 24, 2016 by c49er (see edit history)
Rusty_OToole
Did they have 15" tires in 48? In any case, if you go to the web site of any of the vintage tire dealers they will have a place to look up your tire size.
c49er
I have a 1946 NewYorker and a 1948 T&C... both have 15" wheels. 1946 to very early 1947 NewYorkers use a 5.0" rim width and 1947-48 NY's use a 6.00" wide rim requiring the wider Super Cushion 8.20 tires. JACK M
I don't want to hijack, however if you may be interested I have a set of four NOS full covers for the 16 inch Mopar wheels for sale. The photo shows a set of 15s on a Plymouth, but those are gone now. These are held on by the original hub caps. PM if interested.

JACK M
You would have to educate me on how to ship. Does UPS go there? Last time I sent something out of country was to Canada and they nicked me for some kind of tax. I want $100.00 for the set. Plus shipping, US dollars of coarse.
