noreastcarnut
My differential on my 1981 Buick Riviera has problems within the front wheel drive differential. My mechanic cannot find a source for parts, such as spider gears and carrier. The 1979-1985 Buick Riviera and same for Oldsmobile Toronado. Who can I find with parts, as GM no longer stocks this older stuff?

noreastcarnut
Thanks Dave, but I hope to find a parts car for the differential. My mechanic says it will be very expensive to replace the parts needed. It's better to find a used differential.John in Rockport

NTX5467
Don't forget about Cadillac Eldorados of that vintage. I think they call it "final drive" in the GM parts/service literature? Seems like Jasper Engines has branched out into driveline parts? Might be better to find a rebuilt assy? You might also consider a salvage yard parts operation called "LKQ", as they supply used "heavy line" parts in some areas of the country and operate their own salvage yard operations? I believe they have a website?Just some thoughts,NTX5467
