Curti
This doesn't look aftermarket to me, but I have been wrong before.
Dave Mellor NJ
That looks like from a truck with the filler on the side of the cab.

Curti
There is a likeness there Dave. At first it appeared the top of the cap was not a perfect dome, but I think that is just a reflection of the black running board. It appears to be a gas cap because of the vent hole near the center. Dave Mellor NJ
I'm not saying it's definitely for this ford, just that it looks like the outside gas cap for a truck, Ford for example. The cap in this eBay ad looks like yours, the seller says Ford but I doubt he knows for sure.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1932-1948-Ford-Car-1932-1950-Pickup-Truck-SS-Gas-Cap-/270657923860
Fleek
Best I can remember, my 69 Dodge pickup had a similar gas cap.
keiser31
It does resemble a MoPar gas cap of the 1940s. I have had some cars with the same gas cap.
