Guest Paul Christ
I found this photo on a website for the Saint Louis, Missouri Police Department. The photo caption reads; Photo of City of Saint Louis Police Department Money Wagon, Saint Louis Missouri. Are there enough details available in the photo to determine what type of truck this awesome monster is based on?
nzcarnerd
Could someone organise a close-up of the rear wheel hubcap? That might help. Almost looks like a Hudson triangle.
keiser31
This probably will not help....too pixelated.
keiser31
The rear one looks like an Essex hex shaped hubcap.
Earl B.
What I'd like to know is....Why did the police need a 'money wagon'?...B
keiser31
Probably another name for an armored car.
jdome
There were a number of armored cars built on Cadillac Chassis in the 20's. The hood & front fender look somewhat Cadillac but those are not Cad hub caps. Big city PD's used these armored cars to fight organized crime. addicted to cars
Here is a picture of some Cadillac axles here locally, although the wheel is quite different the hubcap on the left axle is very similar
nzcarnerd
The heavy duty wheels would maybe suggest some kind of commercial vehicle. Maybe it is one of Federal/Stewart/Republic and a whole bunch of other makes. The bullet shape headlights say it is probably about 1927-8.
Grandpa
Could be a Diamond T chassis. They used a hex hub cap design for some models.Grandpa
