Reg Evans
I'm going to paint my 38 Dodge coupe and would like to use a stock color. I have a sales brochure for the car and a couple of the models shown look to be a light color. I also have a Sherman Williams paint chart for 38 and all the colors are dark blues, browns and greens. 13 colors shown on the chart. I prefer light colors. Were there any for 38? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
hwellens
I painted my 38 Dodge coupe with Chillion Green lacquer about 30 years ago. It was one of the lightest colors for that year.
Reg Evans
Wow ! Thanks for the photo. That's a nice color. It does appear lighter in your photo than my paint chip does. Do you know if there were only 13 colors offered for 38. Anyone have a 38 painted another stock color?
Rusty_OToole
I'm sure I have seen cars of that era painted light colors. Beige, cream, pale yellow and grey come to mind. I am sure your car was available in light colors. Is it possible your color samples have darkened with age?
hwellens
I only have chips for 8 colors not including black, so, there may have been some lighter. Chillon Green was one of the chips that I had. My car was originally painted the gunmetal grey. Also, I have a book that list 5 colors for Spring edition cars (no chips). See attachment.
