I guess my "tanking" line could have been misread that YOU were "tanking." That was not my intent. What I meant is that I agree with you in regards to wanting things original on the car. I apologize if this was taken as an insult.Now... back to that coil...???
Restorer32
Funny, I hadn't read your comment that way. Some days I do feel like I'm tanking. I broke both kneecaps when I was 19 and now at 58 my knees are on their last legs. Maybe if someone could score me a golf cart permit for Hershey I might feel better about letting that coil go. Can't you use a few '32-'33 standard headlight buckets ? Somehow I ended up with 27 of them.
West Peterson
Actually, the only advantage of a golf cart at Hershey is to get from one end (of the whole field) to the other a little quicker. If you're hunting for parts, you're better off either hoofing it, or using one of those single-passenger three-wheeled scooters. Sorry, don't need the standard eight headlights. Maybe Tom needs a couple???Not to hijack this thread, but I do need a couple of bow-tie bumper "bananas" for a 734. I'm not sure what the cross-reference is. I believe there are different sizes between 733 and 740 (745 totally different altogether). Since the 734 is built upon a slightly modified 733 chassis, I'm thinking we need the 733 "bananas." Do your cross-reference charts say anything about what is correct?
Randy S
Check out E-Bay item# 330100490321....not being a "veterin" Packard man, are these correct? They would be pretty cool if proper. My 34' is dark green with grey interior.R
Restorer32
West, I think you are talking about "bumper clamp plates"? If so, the fronts are part # 141485 and are the same for 726, 733, 740, 745, 826, 833, 840, 845. The rear would be part # 132706 for the 726, 733, 740. the 745 rear used part # 171768. Hope this helps.
Restorer32
These runningboard valance lights are correct for '31 at least. The seller is a very reputable and knowledgeable fellow. He would likely know what other years/series they were corrrect for.

I would think they are, but I'm not certain.
tbirdman
The parts manuals that are reprinted are a good way to find out whether part were used on what series.

Is that Dave Mitchell?
tbirdman
FYI, Classic and Exotic is rebuilding these under dash coils. Cost is ~300.
