Wood Graining my Dash

Practice makes perfect.. Get some medium tan spray paint. put it on a test piece.. then get a tube of some raw umber at your local art supply. kind of brush it onto the tan base coat, then use a medium length paint roller pad to sweep over the raw umber... get the picture? You can chage base colors and the art supply paint tube colors to get where you want.. I have seen guys do faux marble with the same stuff..... Then when it looks abou tright, start laying clear over the top .

I did find a book all about woodgraining your dash. For those interested it's call Woodgraing by Bob Dunham. It is also co-authored by Bill Cannon. The book was published by SK Publications in 1980.

I will check out your idea at the art supply.
