Time to get your cars out it's Spring Fling time.

This weekend is one of our region most popular events.

It is called our ?Spring Fling?. It started with all of us get our cars out and toured to different members houses/garages with a progressive meal. Looking at the garages, tools and current projects as well as the member?s car collection, if they have one. Finally we figured out it was the garages we were all going for, so now most refer to it as our ?Garage Tour? eating at a restaurants and having snacks and game at members garages. The way it has been going we hit member?s garages about every 3-5 years. The good part about your garage being on the tour is your garage gets that much needed total cleaning you have been going to get around to for years.

This year we are touring the Garages of Vincennes IN including mine.

The tour will start in Boonville IN and travel back roads the 50+ miles to Vincennes.

Then the rest of the tour will be 2-3 mile trips between garages. We will have trailer parking available in Vincennes for the guys with really old cars who can?t safely travel over 20 mph. they can trailer the long haul and tour the short stuff.

We are a small region but usually have a 90% attendance rate on the ?Garage Tours?. Not sure how the attendance will be this year being the day before Easter

If your region doesn?t have something like this, you might want to look in to it, it is the one of the highlights of our region?s calendar.

We held our spring fling this weekend, 40% chance of severe thunderstorms and being the day before Easter hurt our crowd. but we still had a good time.

We had about 30 in attendance, still a good attendance for our small region. Only Car problem we had was a 1955 Studebaker kept vapor locking. We just loaded to passengers in to another vehicle and left it at the restaurant all day and picked it up for the back trip home.

The weather held off and we had a beautiful day.

Great pictures Jay. It was good to see the young fellows along for the tour. I liked the Packard? a lot. Now, tell me which car had the blower package. The dual sidedraft carbed Chevy? six was cool too, but couldn't place it with a pictured car???? Not sure we had a Packard, If you referring to the classic on our tour it is a 32 Auburn, it tour the whole 100 plus miles. (Senior Grand National Winner) (ACD National winner).

The twin carb (Blue Flame) Six was either the White 54 Corvette or the Red 55 Corvette.

The blower was on a 68 Camaro just stored at one of the garages.

The tour are always fun, other clubs should consider a garage tours.

Now it is over and my garage is the cleanest it has ever been.

Everybody commented my garage is so clean and organized, They should have seen it a month ago. Reggie even skipped lunch to finish cleaning his garage.

We have about two garage tours a year in our region, but boy it's a job to clean up a garage to prepare for it.

Why not have the garage tour stop in before you clean up? Put everybody to work, trade off your un-needed parts, give everyone a broom, rags, boxes for trash...

Clean up everything then you leave. Owner fires up the grill and feeds his visitors before everyone heads off to the next victim's shop, (whoever ended up cleaning out the parts washer gets a steak)

Waving goodbye(Thank God, they're gone!)
