Guest Reattamac
My 1988 Reatta Dash Display is slowly dying. First I couldn't reset the trip odometer or switch to metric display. Now, the Speedometer is working part-time, ie: when I see an officer and check my speed it says the big O later, it will work. I have 201,000+ miles on it and still love it! Unfortunately, I can't afford much in the way of repairs. Any suggestions? Note: The odometer does not change when the speed display is off. Thanks, Bob
Barney Eaton
The cheapest way is to find a Riviera in a wrecking yard and try it. Most places will guarentee the parts so if it doesn't work, they will give you another. Or you can pull it out and send if off for repair, cost is usually around $150.Sometimes just pulling the unit and replugging will fix the problem, but your symptoms sound like the problem is in the unit. padgett
Is the entire display blank or do you still have a gas gauge ? Come by Orlando and you can try my spare.

Jim
I have a good used one from one of my several Reatta parts cars for a lot less than getting one rebuilt. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com
Guest Reattamac
Wow, I got replies from the big three. Barney Eaton, Jim Finn and of course Mr. Padgett. This discussion has saved me endless hours and much much frustration. I am afraid my reatta driving life is nearing an end, but I will try to get this going again soon. Thanks to all who replied. I wish I could drop into Orlando soon. Sometime I would like to meet many of you whose names grace this group. Bob
Guest Reattamac
Thanks for your reply. I live in West Baden Springs / French Lick. We are currently watching as our "Riverboat" Casino's steel is being erected. Thanks for the reply to my post. I am going to try to do some parts swapping. There are two Reattas in town, and if I can get the display removed w/o damage, we are going to swap and see if that fixes it. Sorry about the deer. We have more than our share in beautiful Orange County. Thanks. Bob
