jonlabree
I have recently installed the stock Cd player in my 90 Coupe. It fires up, accepts a CD, the radio goes mum and then in the right hand corner of the CD Players display I get E R R Message. Then the CD Player ejects the CD.I am wondering if there is different wiring for the two Radios.I have the one with the Graphic equalizer and tape player.I have checked all connections (twice and soldered them) according to the wiring diagram I recevied.fron Jim Finn..Can anyone help! Jim
Jon,You probably have a bad CD player. As these players get old many things go wrong with them. I have sent you another email.Jim

manikmekanik
Jim, Are'nt there belts in the CD players, not unlike the drive belts in the cassette players? If so, this is a good reason for the malfunctions in them, due to aging of the rubber, and belts get slick or burnt spots. eddieT
Are you trying to play a CD-R or CD-RW? The R/RW format wasn't around when these stock cd players were built. I sent mine to M&R electronics for repair and updating. When I got it back it now plays the R/RW disc.
