Howdy, Wayne...

That's Nelson Thorpe, Pat Thorpe's (ex98thdrill on the forum) father with his '40 Plymouth Woody. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

HA! HA! Over 50 views and only Pedro recognized the handsome fellow in the red cap. Why, not even Pat, his son, recognized his own father. Shame! Shame! Shame!

Now, what does Pedro win....HMMMMMMM! I know, a phone call from me tomorrow awarding him the sounds of my wonderful voice. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yeah and I sent Wayne that picture too... I got it off of my Army e-mail address while I was at Fort Drum.

....it sure looks good with that AGNM on it. Now with that trophy and the one from last year that we got with the truck, we now have a set of high dollar bookends grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

Friday afternoon, after the show, Cars and Parts did a photo shoot, so you'll be seeing more of it very soon.

I'm not Paul Harvey, but to the request of Wayne

<span style="font-weight: bold"> <span style="font-style: italic">"Here's the REST of the story"</span> </span>

While my father and I were in Colorado two weeks ago, a young airman from Buckley Air Force Base attended the show and was taking pictures (I was judging cars at the time). He was intrigued with the car, and the fact that my father was an army retiree, and how I am a Master Sergeant with 20 years of service in. As things turned out, this young airman was injured in Iraq, so the Air Force has him doing photography work until they address his medical issues and decide what to do with his career.

Not that the story is significant, but I was very surprised to get to Fort Drum, fire up my computer, and see the pictures that he e-mailed me.

.....Now to add to the story, while out there, I met up with the guy who was my boss while I was deployed to the middle east. The last time I had seen him was on foreign soil, and it was great to talk about our "war stories" and misadventures in the middle east. He lives in Denver, and I dropped him a line before we left, so he took the time to look us up.

...now Wayne, do I have to do an Ad now for True Value Hardware Stores???

Afghanistan / Uzbekistan Wayne. I was lucky enough to get on the good side of the pond before all that crap in Iraq started. I am still looking at Iraq, but my opt retirement now that I have my 20 years. Of course, they may not let me retire, and they can still call me back into service up until the day I turn 60 (I'm 37).

Irag..Afghan.. To someone that's never been there, what's the difference. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I know! A lot more of our people are getting killed in Irag. BTW Pat, 37 years old. I can still remember that age, barely, when I still had dark hair, no muscle pains, unending energy, long nights of .. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> yeh, they were the good days. Take the retirement Pat. You've done enough for this country. Get out while you have the chance. Wayne
