Status of Buick City demolition?

Is the demolition of the Flint Buick plant still in progress?
I would still love to purchase a brick from the front wall (or any wall) of the final assembly plant; the wall that is in most all photos of the building.
I would also love to purchase a small section of the wooden floor that was driven on by the tires of many brand new Buicks, including both my 1955 Roadmaster and my 1972 Electra 225, as they moved under their own power for the first time!
If I lived in Flint, Michigan, obtaining these would be much easier, but I unfortunately do not live there.
AK Buickman, BCA #1955...........

I just came home from Buick City where I have been going weekly to photograph the end of an era. There is about a 400 ft section of final assembly left out of nearly a mile long building. If someone will e-mail me how to put a picture here I will try to do it. nrbrwll@cs.com

Went over by the demolition last night, not much left, 3 stories about 10 or so bays of what was the paint shop. Lots of rubble everywhere as they are recycling as much as possible. The skyline has really changed!
RV
[ 06-16-2002: Message edited by: BUICK RACER ]

It will probably be a couple more years before anything will be built on the site, as the ground will have to have extensive testing due to years of oil, paint and other nasty stuff. On top of that the City of Flint is in financial turmoil, which won't help.(The state may be taking over soon, due to bad management by a mayor and city council for the last 8 years wanting to blame every bad thing that happened to Flint on GM!)
A new factory was already built on the shipping lot last year, which is building frames for the new Medium Duty Truck being built at the Flint Truck Assembly plant, this new truck, Kodiak and Topkick. newsevents_image_01.jpg
The old Kodiak and Topkick are completing their life at the Janesville, WI Assembly plant this week!
The new truck has many new options, lots of cool stuff for folks in the seat for long periods, plus several engine options too!
Check it out at http://www.gmc.com or http://www.chevrolet.com
Roberta
