Should I be insulted or not?

My son and I took my two Reattas ('90 Conv. & "91 Cpe) to a Buick show at a Buick dealer's lot in Mesa last week. We were parked among Buicks of the 50's and 60's. An older couple came by and he remarked to her, "Look, the dealer put a couple of cars off the show room out here". Made the trip worthwhile.

FBN,

No way should you be insulted. A vette is a great American car. We can not run like they do but we can look as good.

Besides, ignorance of the facts about Reattas is widespread since it was a limited production car.

...and the first time I stopped by the Buick dealer for a part, the parts man - who was almost as old as I - asked "What's a Reatta?"

Just yesterday I went to a drive-through pharmacy and the person at the window asked if that was a cadillac? I said it was a Buick and it was 13 years old. He couldn't believe it and said it looked real nice.

On the way home from Florida a few years ago.

I had the C.B. on and a call come over the speaker.

"How about the Buick Corvette, you got a copy?"

I just knew he was talking to me. So I picked up the

mike and started talking. He complemented me on the car

and he stayed behind me 'till we hit Atlanta.

Yes, it's a complement and I think it is said by people

who know it's a Buick but can remember 'Reatta'.
