I ordered a flywheel for a 425 manual transmission

from poston.they said it will work or i could return

it,i paid 267.75 and as soon as i opened the box i

knew it was wrong.

mine has a recessed clutch and the new one was flat

well i called poston they told me that it will work

just put it in the car.

when i told them that it is not anything like my

old flywheel they said it will work.

the box it came in said 401 NOT 425 i told them my

pressure plate will not work on this new flywheel

they said i was wrong.I finally got pissed

and raised my voice and they told me not to call

them and get mad.i got mad after i talked to them

i dont really know if they dont know any better

or what but i got screwed royally

some people think that so many parts are interchangable

if it fits one it will fit them all

i could be wrong but there is two different part #

1 for 401 flywheel and 1 for 425 flywheel]

all i wanted was to return the flywheel instead i was

told how stupid i am

If I remember correctly, (40 years in the automotive business) the flywheel you got from them is for the Gran Sport, the flywheel you need is for the full size Buicks. The Gran Sports have the flat flywheel and the full size Buick nailhead engines had the stepped flywheel.

Maybe with this information, they may be able to help you.

all i wanted was a refund. i have no invoice(they didnt send one)

only a credit card recipt

their refund policy states 20% restocking fee

shipping back to them at my cost

shipping 40.00 restocking fee 53.55 total 93.55

at that cost if i keep it im out 270.00

if i send it back i threw away 100.00

just wadded it up and gone

im still highly pissed

scott

I'll sell you a complete running motor with the correct flywheel.

The flywheel you have will work but you will need the correct PP and disc.

If the car is a full size,it will not get started moving as well because of the lighter FW. Peace WildBill

All you need is an 11 inch GM diapham pressure plate and use yure disc. It will have less peddle pressure and actually be a better setup. Be sure to line up the index holes on the PP so it will be properly balanced.

When flip, curt responses are left by those asking for help, it can leave a sour taste in the mouth of the well intentioned. Just goes to show you...Some people, you just can't do enough for! Don't let it get you down, MartinSr, WildBill.

PS...I can see why Poston's had a hard time with the guy??!!
