Guest
Does anyone know the color of (or a source) N.Y. license plates in 1924 ? I have a set I would like to put on my Buick but they are in desperate need of paint. I've asked the N.Y. Dept. of motor vehicles but have received no response.
1937hd45
There is a website a fellow has on New York plates, it should turn up on a search. Try eBay as well.
Chris Paulsen
1924 NY plates were white on a grey background. If you want to register your car with them, I believe you have to show them to the state before you restore them. You may want to check it out.I hope this helps,Chris

Bill Boudway
The NYS DMV needs a photo of the plates and you send this in with the paperwork that you can pick up at your local DMV office. They have no way of telling if the plates are origional or restored fron the photo.
