The Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1805-1942, edited by B. R. Kimes and H. A. Clark states 894 1941 Chrysler Crown Imperial 4dr Special Town Sedans built. Note: Chrysler had applied the Custom Imperial to their top-line, most expensive lwb 8-passenger sedans and limousines through the 1939 model. For 1940 their two lwb models were rechristened Crown Imperial (C-27). For 1941 the two lwb models (C-33) were joined by the 1941 Chrysler Crown Imperial 4dr Special Town Sedan (C-30). The C-30 designated the concurrent Eights in Saratoga, New Yorker and New Yorker Highlander trim. The 1941 Chrysler Crown Imperial 4dr Special Town Sedans were a further upscale edition of the C-30 titled as Crown Imperials. While the most expensive New Yorker Highlander Town Sedan was priced $1,419; the Crown Imperial 4dr Special Town Sedan were $1,760. For the $341 price difference, standard features included Fluid Drive, Laidlaw interior fabrics, hydroelectric power windows, safety rim wheels, Double Eagles tires, Crown Imperial overall trim details. Its most direct competition was a well-optioned Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe 4dr touring sedan with Hydra-Matic or a Packard Super Eight 160 4dr touring sedan, Model 1903. Technically in America a private citizen has the right to sell or not sell their property. In that case, we should just leave this one alone. But most of us have a desire to see old cars restored and that at least requires this car to be moved to another party. There aren't many wealthy Chrysler geeks interested in this car, maybe none.
