Thank you for letting us know of this car,

and for posting the contact information

(telephone number).  We have found that

cars may be available long after a short-lived

Craig's List ad expires.

Cars such as this  '65 Electra are not common

at all.  Buick Rivieras and Skylarks of these years

have caught car fans' attention, so those models

are preserved and restored while other models

have survived only by chance.

This one looks like quite the head turner! I was surprised to see the low asking price. I wonder if the interior is in as good a shape as the exterior seems to be. If not, that would certainly explain the price... The Hagerty valuation tool puts a "fair" condition 4-door Electra at around $8,000.

My inference is that the car might not be

quite as good as it appears, and that it's

owned by someone on the fringes of old-car

interest.  Why?  An avid hobbyist wouldn't

have tinted the windows, and would know to

include plenty of pictures in the ad.  Maybe

the interior was torn or was redone unauthentically.

Maybe something more than window tint was

done unauthentically, such as modifications

under the hood, such as the already admitted

aluminum radiator.

Knowing these inferred things, a potential buyer

might ask more probing questions.  And getting

answers might tell us why it's $5000!

Whatever the reason for selling, it is a good looker from the outside.

I agree.

My guess is that owning a black car in TX, it was decided that tinted windows is less effective but cheaper than painting the car white.

A great deal for $5K if the interior's decent.

Definitely worth a look.
