Intake gasket question on 35 Buick

I know the manual says to use a graphite grease on the exhaust manifold gasket due to expanding and contracting but I was wondering if that applies to the intake as well.The gaskets are all in one piece.I'm just concerned about intake leaks.I thought of masking off the separate gasket sections and just using the graphite on the exhaust ends and a gasket sealer on the intake ends. Any suggestions are appreciated.Thanks

My `36 233 has rings recessed into the intake ports of the head, with part of the ring protruding for the intake manifold to slip over. My `41 248 engine is the same.

I used the copper gaskets vs the 'other'  cheeper version.    They alone allow for movement.
