Gary Franz
Hello I have a leather license plate that is getting very dry and brittle and would appreciate suggestions on what to preserve it with. My father had it hanging in his office for over 60 years and I do not want to see it fall apart

John_S_in_Penna
An auto restorer, a friend of mine, said he used neat's foot oil to bring a leather interior back to life. Every day for quite a while, he applied this oil, and he said the leather gradually became soft and supple. I see that Dave's recommendation above uses neat's foot oil as its primary ingredient. 60FlatTop
I have had good luck gently massaging D&L hand cleaner into old leather. It is loaded with lanolin.
