Original Paint Care

Recommended Posts

I'm seeking advice on which polishing/cleaning products to use on the ORIGINAL paint on my 1939 Special which will enhance the finish without damaging it.

Thanks in advance for your advice !

Look into a paint level meter , to see high and low spots of the paint where you don’t rub to

muchnoff . I was afraid to do mine since it’s original paint as well, so I made an appointment and they used a meter to check .

The good thing about Meguiar's #7 is that it isn't abrasive, so it won't remove what's left of the original finish.  Rubbing it in will begin to replenish/replace the oils that have leached out of the original paint with age.
