DavidWhite
This is the carburetor off of the 1917 Kelsey photo that I am restoring. Does anybody recognize it for the manufacturer? I’m looking for any kind of specifications or information on it. Thank you in advance.
Layden B
I believe that to be a Holley. Very similar to what was used on 1913 Studebaker 6 and no doubt many others.
carbking
The earliest Kelsey in my database is 1920. i am fairly confident the pictured carburetor is a Holley model H. There is a good download on the New Way website. Jon Edited March 29 by carbking (see edit history)

DavidWhite
Thank you for the feedback. Again, all the data that I have indicates this is the second prototype before he went into production. If you do a search on the Internet for 1917, Kelsey, you will find this vehicle. You reference the database. Are there any other Kelsey’s or Spartans on your database. to Date I have been unable to find any other four-wheel Kelsey‘s or information on them. The Spartan was Kelsey‘s first four wheel car attempt. I’m looking for information on the Holly H carburetor. do you know any other cars that used this carburetor? DavidWhite
I punched in new way, and there are too many to try to decipher which one refers to the carburetor or the car. Can you be more specific? Thank you, David.
carbking
I have records on Kelsey from 1920 through 1924. 1921 used a Falls X9000 engine 1922 used a Waukesha 6C engine 1923~24 used a Lycoming CF engine. I have no records on a Spartan. New Way made stationary engines Lots of vehicles used the Holley H, but the only meaningful documentation I have found is on the New Way site. carbking
David - I no longer do any custom rebuilds, but thank you for the vote of confidence. Try Carburetor Specialists, in Alpharetta, GA. 678-393-1501 I have been sending folks to them for the last 9 months or so. To date, no one has called me back dissatisfied.
