auburnseeker Posted February 14 Share Posted February 14 I think there is still some life left in that paint. I did a similar colored 65 Chrysler that looked about the same and it had a nice shine when I finished. I ended up wiping the whole car down with lacquer thinner first, which got rid of the house paint overspray on it and actually removed the worst of the dead paint oxidation, then buffed it with a random orbit machine. The owner was amazed at how good it came out. He then left it outside for the next few years and it went to hell again. Shame as it was a really nice original car.
