dodge28
Did you know Dodge Senior engine crankshaft has no counterweights ? It shows in my owners manual. I do not know how to lift the picture from the hand book and upload it on this forum. I will keep trying.
Terry Harper
I cannot address Dodge in particular but many, many automobiles and engine manufacturers used non-counterweighted crankshaft. I believe, and I could be wrong, the Hudson was the first major manufacturer to introduce counterbalanced crankshafts. I have had the privilege of working with a very large Sterling T-head motor from 1919. One of Sterling’s selling points was a counterbalanced crankshaft. In fact the counter weights were “electrically” welded to the lobes as opposed to being cast.
