Unknown 1912-15? rear axle,enclosed driveshaft

I'm thinking it's more like 1908-10. It has dual brake shoes,one for hand brake and one for foot brake in the same drum. A friend has a Stutz and a Mercer and either one or both have brakes like that. I'm pretty sure Stutz had transaxles,Mercer started in 1910,maybe that's what it is.

Yes I think you nailed it. I'm not the best on google but there was one rear shot that showed enough of the rear axle to confirm it. Any ideas if these are rare and in demand or if every Hupp guy has a spare in the garage? Thanks much!

Fairly rare in Australia in that condition, you should have no problems parting with it, put your pictures in the Hupmobile section of the forum. There are other pictures in the Hup forum as well.

I have two restored model 20s in Australia.
