54Buick
I am looking for a set of seat skirts for a 1954 Buick Skylark convertible. I was told that the Buick Century seat skirts might fit . Of course they aren’t correct but I just need something to finish out my seats. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks
Reynard
Never heard the term "seat skirts" before. Do you mean the panels that hide the seat mounts at the end of the sets above the rockers? B Jake Moran
How different are the 54 Century plastic covers (skirts). I don't know you, but if you are trying to finish a car, use what you can get and drive and enjoy the darn thing. Then, endeavor to make, cajol or find the correct cover. They are essentially unobtainium, not available. But other restorers have run into the same issue. You may need to make a mold and cast them. joelj
If you still have the original skirts, they might be salvageable. A post on the Buick forum (Buick post war, 1955 Buick seat repair) from about the first week of October might be of some inspiration. I plan on using the idea on my 54 Century to repair a split on the drivers side skirt. The photo is just to show the extent of damage I'm dealing with. It might be worth a try depending on your situation.
54Buick
Thanks so much for your help . But I don’t have the original seat skirts☹️ The skirt panels that I have didn’t come with this car. Plus they are so damaged that I can’t use them

Thanks These pics should give you a good idea of what you're looking for. Buick parts books called them front seat side panels. The OEM 1954 Buick Skylark 4-way front seat was hydraulic/electric powered and the control switch was a joystick-type momentary switch located on the front-return of the Driver's side seat panel. Good luck on hunting them down with the unique tiger's-eye medallion. ▲ video screen shot of Art Lostumo's 1954 Buick Lido Green Skylark with TRIM code #66 interior Al Malachowski BCA #8965 "500 Miles West of Flint" Edited November 8, 2023 by 1953mack (see edit history)
