6T-FinSeeker
For sale on Facebook: 1956 Packard 400 2-door Hardtop in Montgomery, OH - $27,800 - Must be a member of Facebook to access Seller's contact information. On 11/24, Seller reduced price to $26,700 Link: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/978448890086131/-Ohio-1956-Packard-400 Seller's Description: 1956 Packard 400 2-door Hardtop Driven 56,000 miles Automatic transmission Exterior color: Red · Interior color: Grey Clean title This vehicle has no significant damage or problems Beautiful 1956 Packard 400. Well sorted out and reliable driver. New fuel system, new brakes and tires. Very well maintained original in amazing condition. Honestly gets more attention than our cobra! I’d drive it across the country without concern. Only selling because we just have too many cars, one of which is a 56 Caribbean coupe that we just use more. I would consider a partial trade if it’s something different we could use, but prefer to reclaim some garage space. If the ad is up it’s still available. kingrudy
As I have said before, the "55 or '56 Four Hundred is my next car. I really like the style of the car overall. The dash is a great design, the material that they used on the interior is really attractive and the exterior styling is beautiful, without being over the top. The car sure touches on all my points for desirability, but even as outstanding as it is, the price is a little too high IMO. I have seen some very nice ones at 15K or less. The last car that I remember started at 19K and it was gorgeous. I believe that it sold for 15K. The colors on this car are outstanding. I hope I am wrong on the price, and I do wish this seller the best of luck on the sale of this beautiful car. B Jake Moran
$27.8 is strong money but this is very nice. Don’t forget you would be buying one of the last true Packards.

Don’t forget you would be buying one of the last true Packards. I agree the opportunity to buy a 1956 Packard for less than $27,800. exists, but I strongly suspect Jake is correct that this is not the average '56 Packard. The interior and under hood/engine bay look great with very few nits to pick. The owner has a large car collection, he says he has a Caribbean coupe^ and a Cobra. As evidenced in the photo of the subject car in the garage, he also has a Cadillac Cimarron and a Jaguar. SO HE is also likely in fantastic shape, able to walk many miles after a break down..... Seriously, he says the car is well sorted out -- if it is --we all know that's quite valuable. GOOD FIND Fin Seeker 1 1

B Jake Moran
And still not sold. Compare this beautiful Packard at $26,000 to that 127,000 mile 55 Imperial. Edited November 25, 2023 by B Jake Moran (see edit history)
Jim Skelly
I would free up some garage space by selling the Cimarron. The 400 is a beauty!
kingrudy
I believe that you have to compare apples to apples. There have been several '55 or '56 Packards for sale in the last six months and a nice one will be listed at 20K or better and sell for 15K. Now don't get me wrong, this car looks clean a a whistle, maybe a 9+ out of 10. I think this car could sell for 25K. I do not know why these cars don't sell for more, as I love these cars. Beautiful styling and the interior will knock your socks off. One thing that I have noticed is that this car has all the options, but it is not a Patrician?? To my knowledge the 400 Patrician was the top of the line 400 and then the Caribbean went to the next level. The 400 will be my next car, maybe next year.
