Swilley Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Hello Im new to to the group and Im trying to find some parts for my 1951 Pontiac Chieftain flat head 6cyl. I basically need every thing in the diagram i have attached minus the items highlighted in blue
JFranklin Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Hi Swilley, I hope your moniker wasn't given to you by your drinking buddies! (just a joke), but there are still junkyards out there with older cars in them. People here will want to help so I hope they can find you these parts. If you cannot find them, at least they should be easy to reproduce out of raw stock, and springs can be had from your hardware store.
Swilley Posted September 10, 2023 Author Posted September 10, 2023 (edited) Yeah not sure where i could find a junk yard with cars like that the junk yards around me barely have new cars also the bracket where the clutch fork return spring is missing along with the over center spring extension and the bracket that the spring attaches to for that as well Edited September 10, 2023 by Swilley (see edit history)
JFranklin Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Check a Hemmings Motor news issue, they list many salvage yards that serve the hobby. Where are you located?
PONTIAC1953 Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 you can try Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno, Calif. 559-237-0918 closed Sun & Mon, All American Salvage in Vancouver, Wash., CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, Tex.
vintage1 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Checkout the Salvage Yard page on https://www.vintagepartsource.com , also the Pontiac page.
