Bobby 1909
Hello Huppers, I live in Germany and found a Hupmobile 20 (# 6070/mot #7827) on eBay. I have encountered the following transmission problem: Second gear slips and disengages easily. I opened the transmission cover and took some pics : 2.1 shows that the inner cogs of the gear-wheel do not fit properly into the outer ones - there is a variance of about 12 mm This means that the ball cannot slide into the worknut of the gear lever (pic 2.2 shows first gear worknut) Pic 2.3 illustrates how far the gear shift lever moves forward Does anyone have an idea how I could solve this problem? And can i get a PDF from breeze carb manual (only one 🙂) Pics 1.1/2/3 are of first gear - I also have pics of the gear shift in neutral Thanks a lot Rainer
Fordy
Hi Rainer - I don't know a lot about the Model 20 but try posting your question on this Facebook page, Hupmobile Register - Australia & NZ | Facebook - they are a friendly lot with members worldwide and someone there should be able to help you. The US based Hupp club may also be able to help but they would probably want you to sign up a paid membership first. There is also this Facebook page that may have someone who can advise you - Hupmobile, Hupp Cars and Parts For Sale or Trade | Groups | Facebook Regards Steve
KenHupp20
Hello Rainer,This should be a fairly easy adjustment.Remove the pin just outside the gear box, loosen the lock nut on the shifting fork inside the gearbox.Turn the shifting shaft until the gear rests properly in the final drive.Place the shift lever in neutral and see if the linkage now lines up for the pin,may need a bit of final adjustment.Check low gear engagement also.Remember to tighten the lock nut.I may have forgotten a bit,it’s been a while. If you search this forum you may find info on the Breeze.
