Dieseldon
Just purchased 1938 Plymouth Roadking P5 How do you add a voltage regulator since this model does not have one? Thanks
human-potato_hybrid
I'm assuming you have a 3rd-brush generator. You'll need to change the generator to add one in the newer style (gnd/arm/fld terminals on the generator). Why do you need to add one? The electrical system should work adequately as designed.
broker-len
do you have the square box riding on the generator ???? or is it rectangle on the generator ?? my books indicates that you do have a regulator on the fire wall even if you have the square regulator it should be enough to use the car send pictures to bobnroman@yahoo.com
ply33
I am away from my reference materials at present to verify but I am fairly certain that your Plymouth had a voltage regulator. It might still have a third brush for current regulation though.
Jolly_John
Hi, Dieseldon. You DO have a firewall mounted voltage regulator on your Plymouth, as some of the guys have said. As a matter of fact, I have a still-in-the-box, factory rebuilt voltage regulator that's correct for your car. I sent you a message here on the forum. Just click on the flashing envelope at the top right of this page. John
