I was driving into Providence this afternoon, got off Route 146 to make a stop at Home Depot and stumbled across Dick Shappy's vintage car showroom.  Some years ago, I had visited Dick's house and garages on a car tour, though I never met him.  His showroom is open by appointment but I was able to take some photos through the windows.  I had never been aware of the showroom.  Dick has lots of old cars and motorcycles.

I've never seen a Cameron before, locally built back in the day.  There is a car labeled as a 1911 Marmon Wasp (Indy racer) but it must be a replica as I've seen the original in the Indy Speedway Museum.  There was another ancient car there, but I couldn't tell the brand.  The wheels on the cars look askew because I had to put my iPhone camera on wide angle to get the pictures through the dirty windows.  At least it was a fun few minutes.

Yes, kind of a cute little thing.  There's a 1903 in the National Auto Museum in Reno.

When that Cameron was 1st restored it was at Hershey for the car show. When they tried to start it to go to the show it caught on fire and did a bit of damage. Don't think they made it to the show. That was almost 20 years ago.

You should’ve called Dick. He’s really a nice and very accommodating guy. I was there last week getting some parts for a project I’m working on. The cars inside the office buildings are a site ya have to see. Once I gathered what I was looking for Dick sat down with me and we talked cars for an hour.
Then once you’re done with the cars, there’s always the interesting ladies to see in the other building!! 🤪
