John DePrey
These appear to be just like the radio in my 41 president, except the face plates are a little different, buttons are black vs that ivory colored plastic, and metal volume/tuning knobs. Philco s4627 and s4824 for 6 and 4 button. Anyone know what year(s) they are for? I don't recall what they came out of but I did part out a 42 Commander 40+ years ago. Is there a go to guy on these older radios? Also does anyone have experience with the upgrades to modern guts? The model # plate is missing from the one in my 41, which (sorta) works. I'd probably let one or both of the spares go cheap to someone that needs one. Edited January 8, 2023 by John DePrey (see edit history)

John DePrey
thanks Robert! Don't know how I missed that! Now to track down Radio Roy... I thought I read he was retiring.
studerex
The 1941 radio tag number starts with 18 and 1942 starts with 19. That code works going backwards. 1940 being 17. But not after the war.
