1963 convertible top issues

I have a 63 that I will be working on that the top blows up like a balloon going down the highway, they want me to install a new top since they think it was installed wrong but those years do not have a listing made into the top to keep that from happening so I told the manager that the new top will eventually do it again. It has to be a cloth top and those are worse for doing that so does anyone know if there is a solution out there,I kind of have one in mind but not sure if there could possibly have the top material get pinched when the top folds down with the material close to the top frame.

Does your car have "vent"  windows?  Try opening one  slightly.  I think you will be surprised.   I had three different '50s convertibles in the '50s and '60s.  Worked then.  I was told the top billowed due to the air flow over the top creating lift/vacuum. Opening the vent window an inch broke the vacuum and sucked the top tight against the frame.

Crack any of the side windows just an inch or two, maybe open a fresh air vent,

but be sure the installer included the steel cables which run along inside both sides of the top.

@Ben Bruce aka First Born is correct, and all of our convertibles do this to some degree
