redbaron1930
Hello again; Now that I have a solution for my axles and bearings, I will need to get a new pinion gear for the car. The one I have now (with missing teeth) has or had 13 teeth. My 1912 operators manual says it should be a 3.5 to 1 gear ratio with the ring gear (which has 42 teeth). This would indicate that the pinion gear should only be 12 teeth, so I am not sure but i might have a modified model t gear in the car now (which has failed). My question is does anyone know what the proper gear is and possibly have a picture of the correct one? Thanks Andy
Layden B
The parts book shows 3 different ratios. These pictures are of a scanned copy of the original 1912 parts book. Good enough to know what was going on!
redbaron1930
Layden; Thanks for this information, it certainly makes it clear that a 42/13 was an option for that year. Thanks again Andy
