cquisuila
When i press the brake pedal the engine tends to stall. iT may be due to the idle stator switch.... > If i understand , the idle stator switch is closed when i push gas pedal when i release the gas pedal or push the brake pedal the contact is broken in the switch IS IT EXACT ? JZRIV
You are correct, but pushing brake pedal is totally UNRELATED to the idle stator. Typically your foot must be completely off the gas pedal because even the slightest pressure will trip the switch. Having said that, it is doubful the idle stator circuit/torque converter has anything to do with stalling when you hit the brakes. I would put a vacuum gauge on engine and see whats going on when you press the brake pedal. Maybe have a vacuum leak in booster or elsewhere

EmTee
Use a hand-operated vacuum pump to check the booster for leaks or simply disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the booster as a test.
