Is it true those tie downs should be crossed.

If the right goes to the left spring and the left goes to the right spring it seems there could be little or no side movement.

You hear both ways of tieing down a vehicle, this way if one strap breaks or becomes loose the car will stay where it is at.  Crossed it will move if one strap becomes loose or breaks.
