Electra63
Hello I'm the new owner of a 1963 Buick Electra. I'm trying to determine the paint color of the body and interior but the info nameplate-see photo - does not seem to have a paint color code. The car is a white color body and the interior is - light metallic blue on the underneath of the dash - darker shade of blue on the top of the dash - light gray-blue carpet -light blue seats I want to touch up or re paint the dash areas due to scratches and chipping and eventually repaint the car with the same (original?) white so I'm particularly interested to match the body and dash paint colors Any info or pointers appreciated! joe_padavano
The two letter paint code represents the lower and upper body colors, respectively. In this case, both lower and upper are color "C", which is Arctic White. Edited May 22, 2022 by joe_padavano (see edit history)
Electra63
Ok thanks Joe! I was thinking the CC was short for color code and should be followed by a number. Ha ha. Make sense now thanks Any idea how I find and match the dash colors?
NailheadBob
Mark, go to teambuick.com for interior paint codes. Bob Edited May 22, 2022 by NailheadBob Added photo (see edit history)

Note that the Gloss Ivory is the same Ditzler code 8259 as the Arctic White exterior paint. Note also that the info posted on teambuick.com is a copy of this information from the Ditzler paint chart, except that there appears to be a typo in the transcription, since that online version shows "1259" for the Ivory, not "8259" on the Ditzler chart. Ditzler 1259 is actually Chrysler Buckinham Blue from the early 1930s. Edited May 23, 2022 by joe_padavano (see edit history)

Electra63
Thanks everyone, for the comprehensive information. I'm going to need it soon. I'll also be posting a question later about how to get the original fabric colors for covering door panels if such a product is still available. Thanks again

Which is where I got the paint chart graphics I posted. 😁 Another handy site is paintref.com, which has cross references for factory codes to the matching paint supplier codes. Note the first graphic I posted above the paint chip chart. That was taken from paintref.com and shows the GM "WA" paint code number along with the codes from Ditlzer, DuPont, RM, and others. 1
Electra63
Hello again I have one additional question. Once I've identified the paint codes is there a recommended vendor ? I'm initially interested in interior paints as I have some areas to touch up. After searching I was unable to find a color chart or other info for the interior colors and also couldn't find vendors offering any cross reference for those interior colors. Any pointers? Thanks
