Rondo
My trunion shaft has a groove where the seal is supposed to seal. Anybody know where to get a sleeve and what size to get? Any help would be appreciated.
ply33
The only trunnion I can think of on that era Plymouth are in the ball & trunnion joints on the driveshaft. And the seals on those do not contact any shaft that would get a groove. So I have no idea what you are talking about. Could you describe the major component you are working on? Better yet, can you post a picture?
Rondo
It's the shaft that comes out of the differential and connects to the drive shaft.
ply33
You will have to remove the drive pinion flange to install the seal. Your better local auto supply, the on with the machine shop in back, should be able to get the correct size Speedi-Sleeve (sp?) and install it for you if you take it in to them. broker-len
it would be easier to help if you posted a picture I have a 36 Book can not be that different axle drive pinion comes out of the cage the drive pinion flange slips over it and the oil seal rides on it this is the area of wear you can go to a bearing supplier and they can put a speedy sleeve and fit with a new seal and there should be no leaking Edited April 3, 2022 by broker-len (see edit history)
Rondo
Thanks for the info.I apologize for the error. I meant pinion seal not trunion seal. Brain fog.
