Picked up a 36 dodge today ( was told it was a 38) and they didn't have keys, can't tell if this is the original ignition switch or an after market swap. And how would I get keys if it is original

Looks right to me. Here’s mine and the key too.

Looks right. The switch is connected by a shielded cable to the coil, which mounts on the firewall. I've noticed , in your pics, that someone has changed some of the electrical stuff. Always best to put it back to original. There is no need for 12 vt upgrades or alternators if properly repaired.

Ok so bring the original how do I get a key, I see no marks to identify key cut?

Failing a number stamped on the rear of the lock, take it to your nearest friendly locksmith.  Picking a Yale lock is easy for an experienced locksmith - don't let them tell you otherwise!  A key can then be cut to rearranged tumblers.
