buickbrothers
Does anyone know how to remove the heat riser/valve on the exhaust manifold? Mine is really stiff and I need to remove in order to clean it to get it to open/closing smoothly.
Fr. Buick
Can't remove it, the valve plate is spot welded onto the shaft. Use some penetrating oil and exercise the valve, then lube with liquid graphite.
EmTee
I suppose it could be cut out if you're able to drop the head pipe from the manifold. You'd then need to plug the shaft holes with something (e.g., self-tapping screws)...
