Had a friend who drove a 318 for years. She finally traded for a Suburban.

Which takes us back to the above-mentioned bucket seat Fleetwood that 58 found ruined in a junkyard. That car was probably only 10-12 years old. 

 

Seems cars like that attract yahoos once they get into the used car pipeline. What was once its original owner's pride and joy quickly degraded once it hit the secondary market. Being into Hurst/Olds and TransAM most of my life I've seen that happen too many times.

 

An uncle once said that a clapped-out Chevy, Ford or Plymouth was terrible, but a ruined Cadillac, Electra, Lincoln or Imperial was a true whore of a car. Like me, he never understood people who simply didn't care about their car investment.

Found a car like that. One of one. 1966 Pontiac Bonneville 421. 4 door, four speed. Too rusted out to consider but interesting.
