billbuickgs
Anyone have info on 55 century's with std trans ? Looking for numbers on 55 66R with std trans . Total production on this model ( 66R ) was over 80,000 and I guess that less then 3 % would have been stick shifts ?????? Bill
Fr. Buick
According to Buick 1946-1978, by Jan Norbye and Jim Dunne (p. 56), cars sold with Dynaflow numbered 85% of Buicks sold in 1954. I imagine that number was even higher in '55, given the improvements made that year.
MrEarl
Bill, years ago Terry Dunham told me in a letter that there were less than 500 1954 Century's produced with the conventional transmission. He somehow backed that number out I'm thinking based on percentages of Supers, Century's and Specials probably against the number Fr.Buick referred to above. MrEarl
@billbuickgs, not what you're looking for but some good info you may be interested in. A shame Terry isn't still with us, I'm sure he would be able to answer your question.
