1938 Pontiac Steering Wheel Question

An individual I know has a recast steering wheel that he purchased as a 1938 Pontiac steering wheel.  However, he says it doesn't fit his '38 station wagon.  The vendor is no longer in business, so he can't question the vendor.  Did Pontiac possibly use different size steering shafts on the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder cars.  I know Chrysler did during these years.  Is this maybe not a Pontiac steering wheel?

Pontiac used the same diameter shaft on all cars for years, just different lengths.

It is similar, but different from the `36 Buick. Pictures of a `36 Buick banjo wheel attached.

Thanks for your response. It may be a '37 Buick without horn ring as it's the wheel in the '37 brochure shown here.  I'm also seeing this wheel listed as a '36 as well.  Still searching for the answer.

The oddly shaped base should be unique to some model of `30s car. I bet John Keiser (Keiser31) could ID it.

Here's the answer, this is a early production '37 Buick steering wheel.
