rodneybeauchamp
The mechanic who does most of the work on my ‘63 finally confessed to his blunder. It seems when he was refitting a replacement ROA license plate frame that had broken, he inadvertently drilled through one of the springs that holds the fuel filler door flap closed. Like most shady characters, he did not say anything at the time but proceeded to fit the frame and keep mum. It still closes but it is very weak, especially with the weight of the new ROA frame and my custom plate. I find that at the petrol station, I have to push the door shut, previously it’s would bite your fingers if not careful. After a few choice words, allowing for this virus thing, I gave my mechanic a final warning ! And a blast! Usually he does good work but you have to keep an eye on him! 😀😀😀 So what I need to find is a replacement spring or set of two for this door! I don’t want a whole filler door because the postage will cost more than the mechanics wages, so if someone had a spare set from a used ‘63, or a NOSE set I’m happy to negotiate the price! Thanks Rodney from down under 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
