Supercharger

I've got the opportunity to pickup a'95 Riviera with the supercharger.

Parts car.

The thought was to transplant the engine ( or just the supercharger) into a Reatta.

I know some on this list have done just that.

I'm open to comments, and advice on this endeavor.

I've done transplants before; 4 speed powertrain from a Corvair into a VW bus.

3800 powertrain into a Fiero.

All run great, and like bats out of Hell

Whole car is best so you get all of the sensors, wiring, and computers. I may still have the program for a Buick L67 in a Reatta. Stock program and heads/injectors will run too lean up top. Also need s/c MAF.

Others have done more recently.

I agree, the whole car allows for all the little odd stuff you may need. As for transplanting the whole engine or just the supercharger, it really depends on why the Riv is in the yard. If the engine is sound, it makes the most sense to transfer the whole thing. If the engine has problems then it may pay to transfer the top end to an existing LN3. I planned on doing a transfer to a fresh LN3 long block I have and I have a complete 95 s/c engine on the stand and am debating maybe resurrecting the s/c engine? In any case, when the engine was pulled for me by the salvage yard, they left the torque converter attached to the flexplate. When I checked the part number of the torque converter, I found it was compatible with the LN3 and 440T4 trans in the car. Sort of a bonus.

Swap the complete engine. It is a ton easier.
