Ralph55
I try to restore the trunk light in my 1955 Super - all that's left is a cut wire dangling from the trunk lid and an empty light bulb socket. Quite a sad sight... Can someone post a photo how those two connections look(ed) originally? What kind of bulb is correct there and where should the 12 V connection emerge from the body side? I added the bulb and the connector on the wire during my experiments: Edited September 14, 2019 by Ralph55 (see edit history)
demon452
There was no connector. Solid wire. When I pulled my deck lid I disconnected the wire from the socket and pulled it that way.
Bhigdog
It looks like you have a dual filament bulb in the socket. Totally wrong, should be a #89 bulb. Orange wire comes out where you show it but no connector until the black one you show by the socket. There is no separate switch. The switch is a mercury switch in the socket itself. The shop manual lists bulb usage on page 308 and wiring diagram with connector and wire color on page 386. You do have a manual don't you?..................Bob Edited December 6, 2019 by Bhigdog (see edit history) 1
