George Rohrbach 27 Posted June 8, 2019 Share Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) 1938 Studebaker State Commander 4 Door Sedan For Sale $6000. Located near Allentown, PA. One repaint in the 1960's. Mostly survivor. Has its share of scrapes and small dings, but nothing major. Runs and drives, but 245" 6 cylinder engine is in need of replacement, due to knock on warmup. Crazing on 4 of 12 glass panels. No old car smell. Odometer reading is 94513. Second owner. I will be glad to provide more information and photos. We lived near South Bend for about sixty years and saw lots of Studebakers, but I don't recall seeing one like this. Unusual car at a great price. Good luck finding it a new home. The headlights are called cathedral, the first year that Studebaker had integrated ones, instead of standalone pods. They were not even on all 1938 Studebakers, only State Commander and President models. They were not on the less expensive, regular Commander. Link to post Share on other sites
