spectre1995 Posted May 19, 2019 Share Posted May 19, 2019 I came across this transmission in a lot of Chevy transmissions I picked up to have spares for my truck (A pile of Saginaw 3 Speeds!), and I had no clue what it was but had to take it home with me. Far as I could tell, it's a 3 speed manual transmission out of a 1936 Dodge Pickup truck. Case numbers are "651358", and either 8-16, or 8-18, it's kind of hard to tell. I sprayed it down with some Gunk, and took it to the self service car wash to give it a good cleaning, so tomorrow I'll scrape the rest of the crud off and see if there's any other markings. I'm pretty sure it's a Dodge gearbox, but I don't own anything this would go on. So would anyone have an approximate value for it? Thanks in advance! Should have a set of alpha numeric numbers on it that start with something like "T86" somewhere. I would suggest that info is needed before we can determine exact vehicles and value for sure. IMO the $ range is somewhere between $50-$150 depending on condition and finding someone who needs it regardless... A few of some of the combo examples will look like this : See entire sections in 111 & 113 to help determine further. 1T86-1 (with brake) T86-1 (without brake, *it notes "watch brake in interchanging) T86-16A …. Those numbers will be important for any buyer because of the combination possibilities of what someone may have to change in order to make it work for their application . Ah, makes sense Graham, Yes, found it the Parts-Application Section, however, my Hollander only goes to 1940...I suspect over the years they updated the book to include the next casting, ending in "8", where my book might have been too early to catch that version....maybe? 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sorry for hijacking but I have to ask you Spinney (I know you are great at this stuff)... what is T69-143 part interchangeable with ? Having a hard time finding in any of my Hollanders... I have a couple of fairly early editions that go back to the 20's and early 30's (7th & 9th edition etc..) but not seeing anything. I know the 1930 Chev was a T10, but I have no clues where a T69 might fit in the sequence. It might be much later of course. The T56 was used in vehicles like Cobra, Viper, Camaro, Firebird, Ford.
