Grandparents car in 1929

Have been puzzling about what my grandparents drove back in the day. The pictures were from 1929.

Chalmers - 1919 (?)

You can see the emblem in the lower corner of the radiator  - CMC (Chalmers Motor Company)

Wow. It does look like their symbol. Good catch!

I don't think both pictures are of the same car. Note first car's fenders appear to have smooth rounds edges while second car has flatter "older style" ones. Also tops on both cars are different and the accessory "spot light" is mounted to windshield in 2 different locations, at windscreen split for one, and below the split on the other. So may we still have to figure out the make of the 2nd car.

Now that you point it out, they do look different. Also the side view of the car shows something the shape of a doorknob in front of the windshield that isn't there on the other.

The second picture is not a Chalmers. The hood louvers on a Chalmers are vertical; the car in the second picture has angled hood louvers.

The second car is a Model R Hupmobile.

Thanks! Looks correct to me. My grandfather actually worked at H.H. Franklin at the time. Still have his employee pin.
