Turn signal switch for 55

Try loosening up the zinc cover on the lower column where the wires run in.  Then try pulling on the switch and wires a bit.  This might give you enough access for replacing the switch.  But do not try completely removing the wiring.  It will start falling apart on you.

If it is not working at all, check the brake light fuse and be sure you have verified good bulbs and grounds and 12+ on both sides of the fuse.

When one of mine stopped working, i pulled the fuse which crumbled and replaced with a new fuse.  Still not working.  I cleaned up a steering column collar with switch after pulling the wires  from the jacket.  Hooked it up as a test before installing.  Still not working!  Turns out the NEW FUSE was defective!  Both the test switch and original now worked.

I have never worked on the actual switch portion, but it is probably like the backup light/neutral safety switch which is easy to disassemble to get it working...if it is in fact defective.
